Life goes on…at Russ-Stick Acres

Hard to believe it was just a week ago.

Musher invasion at Russ-Stick Acres.

Here’s Jason Barron’s account.

After the event, Mother Nature decided to pay a visit and knock out my computer. Yes, Russ-Stick Acres is computer-less.

Dead. Fine’. Stick a fork in it ~ it’s done. End of story.

Hang in there folks, I will be back. Bigger, better, brighter.

As soon as we solve our computer crisis.

I’ve got so much to tell you. And show you.

New rabbits. New goat.

Until tomorrow ~ God willing,

The Long Journey ~ is nearing an end…

Filed under: Meet the Mushers, Uncategorized — Tags: , , — Administrator @ 3:51 am

Tonight, as Rustic Russ and I made our usual trek to take in the simple beauty of our path-laden 40 acres (which tonight included fireflies lighting the way) we know our planning is coming to an end.

How wonderful to share the week with a full moon. According to the Lakota Sioux, the August full moon was named “Moon when cherries turn black”.

Since last fall, also during a full moon, we have been planning for our 2nd musher gathering.

Dee Dee Jonrowe, Ryan Redington and Jason Barron.

It’s like anything you do. You plan, you carry through, and if it is meant to be, it works out.

For us, we have to rely on faith, and the fortune of good friends.

We are usually a “party of two”.

But during our event planning, especially as the day draws nearer, we have the blessings of many hands.

We look forward to meeting new friends, and seeing old ones.

It is a time for like-minded folks to come together in fellowship, worship, and fun.

Sure, it’s tough at times.

Too much time on the ‘puter.

Too many boards being milled and nails being hammered into the early evening.

All the while we still do our own “work” and maintain our farm and sled dogs.

However, we are learning to roll with the punches.

Everything always works out.

As Rustic Russ always says, “It bees what it bees…”

We hope to see you this coming weekend, at Meet the Mushers. It’s truly life changing.

Until tomorrow ~ God willing,

A-Tisket, A-Tasket, a Green and Yellow Basket

Don’t miss out folks ~ 10 more days to take advantage of the early discount for the Meet the Mushers event.

We are having a special feature this year. “Bid on a Basket!”

Silent auction bidding on a picnic basket of your choice. The winner receives the basket…and the Musher it is assigned to!

You will have the opportunity to have a light supper picnic with Dee Dee, Ryan, or Jason after the presentation on Sunday, if you are the lucky winner!

Imagine…

A delectable dinner with Dee Dee, talking dogs.

Reminiscing with Ryan about races, analyzing runs and hearing Redington stories.

And last but not least, jawing on some jerkey with Jason, shooting the breeze (and maybe the bull), with Beargrease Barron.

Don’t let August pass you by, only to look back with regret for not attending.

Musher Tim Riley will also be speaking and Ann & Will Rowland are returning again this year to sing and play!

Act now and save!

Come on ~ join in! Your friends will be here!

Until tomorrow ~ dreaming of baskets and bidding ~ God willing,

Woodswoman
