This past weekend, warmer temperatures prevailed.

Those warm temps and sunshine had some critters jumping for joy.

Rachael led the charge. Telling the world she loved the snow and the sunshine.

Not everyone celebrated the same way. Some just soaked in the sun.

Some went for a short run on fast trails.

But some, like Rachael, couldn’t contain their happiness.

And kicked up their heels.

And while all this was going on, our thoughts turned to spring also.

We have a new adventure at Russ-Stick Acres.

One I hope you will enjoy.

Come June, we will be featuring a Farm Market for all the local growers, farmers and crafters.

We invite you to partake. Check HERE.

Of course more information will follow, as it gets off the ground.

Until then, enjoy the sunny winter days and bask in the beauty of nature.

Until tomorrow ~ God willing,

Love is in the air…

Anyone who has owned a buck goat, knows what I’m talkin’ about.

October.

The demand for companionship is in full swing.

Why are goats so intent on adding odor into the equation?

Billy goats love to douse themselves with their own unique urine, in hopes of attracting the doe of their desire.

Rams on the other hand, have a modicum of decency.

But Jeb?

He’s pulling out all the stops.

Summer on the Ranch

It’s good to have friends who share your dream, such as AC (Animal Control) Ellen.

In visiting her ranch, it confirmed to our grandboys that we (Nana and Papa) weren’t the only ones who liked to farm.

AJ got to experience the joy of holding a 3-day old kid.

Kaleb got to experience a mother’s concern.

And, once passing the test, to hold that mother’s precious little one.

Yes, we, like AC Ellen, like our animals. Big, small, and many.

And we love our amazing Mustangs, just as AC Ellen does.

AC Ellen has the happiest (and cleanest) pigs around.

And we will benefit by the birth of this trio. One of them, Rachel, is coming to live with us once weaned.

The boys realized that we, like AC Ellen, love what we do.

Summer, fall, winter, spring.

Until tomorrow ~ the Grandboys have gone back home ~ God willing,
