Our Sled Dogs:

Last Chance Kennel is a professional sled dog kennel dedicated to the health and happiness of sled dogs. Education and recreation are an important part of LCK's mission, but for our dogs - many of whom have been rescued from shelters - this is their last chance for healthy care and a quality lifestyle. (We follow, and recommend, the guidelines set forth by P.R.I.D.E.)

The Last Chance Kennel Mission:

To allow each individual dog the right to perform at it's own capability, not to be pushed beyond their limits, and to have fun doing what they are bred to do.

At LCK we strive to provide an environment for individuality, growth and reward. We foster intense musher/dog relationships through mutual respect.

We are truly honored to be able to dedicate our lives and lifestyle to facilitate these incredible athletes through superior care and compassion.

Russ-Stick Days
Just like the yearly old-fashioned county fair! Russ-Stick Days will take you back to the country just like in the Olden Days. Rodeo games, demonstrations on the hour, flea market, camping, brats on the grill. Come join the fun! Premiering in the summer of 2010!!
Russ-Stick Camping & Campouts
Rustic camp sites located in both wooded and open areas. Larger campsites for cluster camping with friends! Complete privacy awaits. Come hear the beautiful Hermit Thrush serenade you in the evenings. You will also be joined by coyote, turkeys, and bear...oh my! Small rustic cabin also available for rental. Sites range from $20 to $25 per night - firepit. Cabin $45 per night. Firewood for sale on site.
TEEN MUSH! @ LCK
Calling all TEENAGERS! KEEP WATCH for an exciting new experience for teens one Saturday a month! TEEN MUSH - come learn this sport with your peers, taught by peers! You will be a DOG Musher! Lunch included. Stay tuned for more information about this exciting opportunity...
Horseback Riding Lessons with Russ
Make that life-long dream come true. Learn to be a horseman/horsewoman. Russ will teach you the gentle way using John Lyon's techniques. Conquer your fears on our trained horses. Start in the round pen and advance to the trails. Private lessons for any age. Helmet required. Lessons begin at $25 per hour. Two hour minimum.
Spring Break Dog Sledding BLAST for Teens!
Forget Cancun, skip Florida! Why not stay in beautiful northern Lower Michigan and witness what it has to offer in the early weeks of Spring! An alternative awesome outdoor adventure for teens. Come for four days and learn how to be a dog sled driver! Live the true musher lifestyle! Keep watch for more information to follow! LCK supports "NO CHILD LEFT INSIDE" Please note: No cell phones, electronic games, iPods, etc. will be allowed.
Summer Kennel Tours
Visit the dogs in the summer months! Hear how they will be gearing up for fall training and winter adventures. $5 per person - $20 minimum per group. Based on availabilty of Host. Reservations required! Closed on Sundays.
